The L85-A2 is an improved version of the original 5.56mm SA80 rifle, which came into service in 1986. The magazine has a capacity of 30 rounds, which can be fired as single shots or bursts. It provides quick and accurate fire at short range opportunity targets. Individually, it is highly accurate with deliberate fire up to 300m and upto 600m as a section weapon. It can be sighted using the standard iron sight or the SUSAT.
