The LSW is similar to the L85 and has been in service since 1986. It has a longer barrel, a bipod and shoulder
strap fitted for greater range and accuray. Many of the weapon’s parts are interchangeable with the L85, including
the same 30 round magazine. The LSW is capable of producing a high rate of accurate rapid fire at ranges upto 800m.
The RAF Regt currently employs the LSW with specially trained Gunners in the Sharpshooter role.
has a capacity of 30 rounds, which can be fired as single shots or bursts. It provides quick and accurate fire at short
range oppurtunity targets. Individually, it is highly accurate with deliberate fire upto 300m and upto 600m as a section
weapon. It can be sighted using the standard iron sight or the SUSAT.
